Dark theme compositions

Five product compositions placed the products among stone forms and stands. The rocks were sculpted by hand, while procedural materials added surface variation and fine detail visible in close-up.

The images were rendered at high resolution and delivered as transparent PNGs. Particular attention was given to the shadows: they needed to fade softly towards the image edges so the compositions could sit naturally within the page.

Horizontal compositions

A horizontal scroll was proposed to introduce the product range. The first concept featured two winding branches carrying products and branded spheres. A 7680 × 1800 px render and separate images of the elements allowed the composition to be used as a whole or in parts.

Following client feedback, the direction shifted towards cleaner materials. The second concept combined glass stands of varying heights, marble elements and products under glass covers. Lighting and reflections were adjusted to keep the products clearly visible through the glass.
The glass stand composition was subsequently used elsewhere in the project.

Brand elements

Several 3D versions of the DAIGO name were created using coloured minerals, alongside a stone version with vegetation.

A separate horizontal composition extended the stone theme through a large sculptural form, smaller rocks and a soft glow.

Materials from the product scenes were also used in the dark version of the key visual. The existing animation of spheres moving in a circle received new materials, revised lighting and a new render.

Catalogue images

Images were prepared for six products from agreed camera angles. Depending on the product, the series showed the item, its packaging and a composition combining both.

This work used existing models and involved refining materials, setting up lighting and rendering transparent PNGs for catalogues and other materials.

Models for Three.js

Eight models were prepared for interactive viewing: seven static objects and a wooden gift box. The supplied assets were optimised by reducing geometry and baking materials.

An opening animation was created for the box, separating its components to reveal two levels of products. The prepared models and animation were delivered for use in Three.js.

03 — Scope
The project received content at different levels of detail and for different uses: page compositions, catalogue images and models for interactive viewing.

Natural textures and recurring brand elements connected the new assets to the website's existing concept.
05 — Outcome
Working from the designer’s ideas and references, I composed the scenes, created environment assets, set up materials and lighting, and produced the final renders.

I also adapted an existing animated scene for the dark theme, produced catalogue images using existing product models and optimised eight models for Three.js.

For the gift box, the work included creating the opening animation and preparing the animated model for handoff to the developer and playback in Three.js.
02 — My role
The DAIGO website required a range of assets to present its products: atmospheric compositions, brand elements, catalogue views and models for interactive viewing.

The foundations of the website's light theme and some 3D scenes were already in place. The work involved developing the dark theme and creating additional content within the established visual concept.
